Yes folks, we have decided that Bucconeer needs an official mascot to make our Worldcon complete. Why a crab? The Chesapeake Bay blue crab is the traditional symbol of Maryland, and who are we to fight tradition?
But we need your help! We don't know what Bucky looks like! We are seeking drawings of Bucky from you, our talented members.
Just think! Your Bucky the Crab design could grace thousands of Bucconeer t-shirts, coffee mugs, pub-lications, spittoons, and whatever other colorful trinkets our members might be persuaded into buying. And what will you receive in addition to fame and glory? Well, I think we could cough up a t-shirt or some other future Bucky the Crab souvenir.
Send your Bucky the Crab drawing to us before March 31, 1997. It should be drawn on stock no larger than 8.5 inches by 14 inches. Please note that your design may be reduced to a small size for use on letterhead or business cards. If possible, please provide both black-and-white and color versions of your artwork. The winning design will be presented in our next Broadside.
