The Pirates of Fenzance
by John Pomeranz

Come See the Very Model of a Modern Fannish Musical!

Adventure! Romance! SMOFs! Join us for Gilbert and Sullivan as you have never seen it before. Bucconeer is proud to present The Pirates of Fenzance, a fannish retelling of Gilbert and Sullivan's classic tale of love and duty. Complete with with singing, dancing, and great acting (at least according to our mothers).

We'll be performing the show at LoneStarCon2, the 55th World Science Fiction Convention to be held August 28 to September 1, 1997 in San Antonio, Texas.

But why just witness the spectacle when you can be a part of it?! We need actors and singers for the show. We'd prefer to have folks from the Baltimore-Washington area for the principal characters, but if you're from more distant ports of call we can try to work something out. If you'd prefer not to appear on stage, we'll need help with costumes and props too. Whatever you'd like to do, let us know, and we'll send you information.

The script should be finalized by the end of 1996. We plan to have read-through rehearsals at Balticon and Disclave this year.
